I wanted to share  an important email that I received today.  Please help the PushNation rise up to tell Congress about how access to out-of-hospital maternity care and Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs), who are specially trained to provide it, are a top priority in national health care reform! Help alert Congress to the Capitol Hill Issue Briefing on Thursday, May 21, focused on how out-of-hospital maternity care reduces costs and improves outcomes.

Lynn Paltrow’s recent commentary on the Huffington Post brings to light a very important discussion about informed decision making for all childbearing women.

In this time where many question the safety of home birth and use hospital birth as our standard,  there is growing data that home birth and hospital birth are equally safe for healthy women and babies, with well-trained midwives, good transportation, and an integrated approach that facilitates good communication and team work between health care providers and women.

It’s been an interesting two days as Orgasmic Birth has been referenced in an article  about Jenna Jameson giving birth naturally to twin  sons: http://www.anorak.co.uk/celebrities/207307.html  And today on WMMR radio on the Preston and Steve show they discussed our Documentary.  A  woman called in who experienced an "orgasmic birth" as well as a physician who said while she had never had anyone she knew experience this, it was possible.

It took less than two minutes.    The key fact for me is that the goal of this campaign is to present the one million signatures to the world health leaders at the World Health Assembly's meeting this May.             Early last Thursday morning my alarm clock woke me when the sky was still a dark purple, and the morning birds were still fast asleep.  It was time to hit the road and drive down to Washington D.C.
